Following hand picking fruit for the First Growth was fermented in 8 tonne static fermenters with parcels undergoing extended maceration time to increase tannin structure and further the aging potential. After 35 days on skins the wine was pressed to a prestigious selection of new chateau Barriques, sourced from renowned Bordeaux cooperages Seguin Moreau and Taransaud.
Malolatic fermentation took place in barrel, with further elevage in oak for 21 months where the fine grained tannins created a tightly structured wine with the potential to continue to improve in bottle for a period in excess of 20 years.
Blend composition: 96.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.3% Petit Verdot

Tasting Notes

Colour: A deep brooding red with a dense, dark core

Aroma: A complex nose showing cassis and dark fruits, briar, dark chocolate and fresh leather.

Palate: Powerful and intense expression of Coonawarra Cabernet in its first flush of youth. Tightly wound tannins support the fruit flavours, and promise a long life ahead
